Lodge Policies

WE LOVE IT HERE, YOU WILL TOO!

Welcome to the Silvery Moon Lodge

House Rules

Our policies are designed to provide each guest with a safe and enjoyable stay.

Check-in & Check-out Times:
Check-in is no earlier than 2:30pm on the date of your arrival.  Check-out is no later than 9:30am on the date of your departure. Arriving before you’re scheduled check-in adds much strain to our employees as Saturday is very hectic as it is. Please make arrangements with us if you require times other than specified & we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.
Motorized Boat Rentals:
Please ensure that you have a valid Boater’s License, as required, to operate motorized boats in Ontario. Our Dock Staff will go through a Boat Safety Checklist with you and you will be asked to sign a Personal Liability Waiver when you take possession of the rental boat. Please note, no nighttime fishing or boating is permitted with Lodge rental boats. You will be responsible to pay all damages sustained to the boat, motor or prop during the time of your rental.
Non-Motorized Watercraft Rentals:
Our Dock Staff will go through a Boat Safety Checklist with you and you will be asked to sign a Personal Liability Waiver when you take possession of the watercraft. Use of our non-motorized watercrafts after dark is not permitted.
Fishing Policy:
Guests must obtain an Ontario Fishing License before angling on Trout Lake or any surrounding bodies of water. Lodge guests must adhere to all Zone 10 fishing rules/regulations. For example, fishing out of season, exceeding daily catch limits or ignoring slot sizes will not be tolerated. Guests not following the fishing laws will be asked to leave & will not be welcomed back.
Pet Policy:
Charge of $50.00 per pet per stay. (one dog per cabin unless approved before arrival).

Pets are now welcome at Silvery Moon Lodge! Provided that they are cared for by their owners. It is mandatory that your pet must be leashed at all times while outside on lodge property. We are surrounded by crown land & walking trails for off-leash playtime. As a gentle reminder, keep your pet close to you at all times and please respect that not all guests enjoy fur buddies as much as we do. Please ensure that you clean up after your pet at all times, including in cabins, outside & on trails, etc. To reduce shedding, please brush your pet regularly OUTSIDE. You will be asked to sign our pet policy form & a liability waiver. You will be responsible for any accidents/damages your pet causes. Please contact us & let us know if you are bringing a pet before arriving or if you’d like to see the pet policy. Outdoor Campfires:
Outdoor Campfires:
Campfires must be lit only in designated areas, as determined by the Owners. Each cabin has their own personal fire-pit & the Lodge has a large communal fire-pit. We expect guests to exercise extreme caution when setting campfires and adhere too Outdoor Fire Indexes, including compliance with Burn Bans if directed by the local fire department. Campfires must be attended to at all times and extinguished with water when leaving the fire pit area.
Garbage:
Please place all garbage inside the cottage or in designated waste bins. Do not leave food, garbage or food waste in your porches, outdoors or near the BBQs. We encourage you, wherever possible, to avoid single use or disposable items to reduce your environmental footprint. In hopes of cutting down on plastic water bottles, we have equipped each cabin with a Culligan water dispenser & have jugs on site.
